A central part of the mission of Remnant House is helping those in need in Israel . . . and there is no shortage. As we all know, “the poor you’ll have with you always, and you may do good unto them whenever you wish.”
Our great Rabbi taught us well to be mindful of the needs of the poor and hurting among us and to NOT hide ourselves from them. Rather our call is to go to them with open arms and be a blessing, support, and show them the LOVE of our beloved KING and HIS KINGDOM.
At Remnant House, we are a proactive BOLD house that does not wait for the needs to come to us. Instead we seek out and pursue relationships with those who are making a real difference.
We take the time to CONNECT!
Having reviewed several “ministries” here in Israel, it is heartbreaking to report that some are pretending to help others but are not. That is why when we go visit and connect with a local ministry, we thoroughly review to make sure they are doing the work that is so desperately needed.
In visiting Meir Panim here in Tiberias Israel, we can not only see the work being done but we are deepening our relationship by being available each week for “special requests” that are outside the normal for their work.
In a recent conversation with the director, I was pulled into the kitchen to discuss a special need for a family. They have a son that is suffering from Cancer and as a result, both parents have lost their employment. As you can imagine, this has been devastating for this family.
When the local director spoke to me she told me she didn’t know who she could call to help with this special situation and then she remembered Remnant House.
She looked at me with tears and said, “I know who I can call, I will call Peter.”
Words cannot express how precious it is to me personally and for this house to be considered the “go to” house for something they couldn’t think of anyone else to help with. Of course we will help and it is our honor to be a part of helping this family.
When we hear about a need that we can meet . . . we do it!
