So what does it mean “do not cast your pearls before swine”? Who are the swine and what is the pearl?

I have my understanding of this but want to see what I have missed. ❤️

Funny you ask this. This very saying popped in my head earlier and then the next thought that those who call themselves Christians profess a belief in a deity whose very name means swine. So I thought perhaps evangelizing to Christians is casting pearls before swine 🤷🏽‍♀️
