Shalom!

Still highly imbued with the euphoria and bliss of Passover & Unleavened Bread, I welcome you to the month of Ziv, as the year begins its gentle but sure circle. So as the year rolls on, we need to recall to mind a number of things that make this month a part of our eternal history for instruction and guidance in righteousness and for correction.

Ziv, the second of the biblical months, coming right after Aviv (Nisan) is perhaps not a month of spectacular moments in history, especially coming in the heels of the head of months Aviv which is the month of the awesome exodus events, particularly the spectacular parting of the Red Sea; but it is a month of many sublime qualities.

Ziv is the month that God Promised and did cause manna to rain from the sky. So from the manna that rained from heaven, to the bitter waters of Marah, healed and turned sweet, Ziv is a month marked for spectacular healing and redemption for the people of God. It is also not merely coincidental, but providential that in Ziv, also known as Iyar, our God who is faithful, promised that our illness would not be random, and that He will always strike a difference between us and our oppressors. In fact the word Iyar in Hebrew is an acronym for the phrase Ani Hashem Rophecha, which means, "I am God, your Healer." This faithful promise to strike a difference between us and our oppressors is recorded in Moses’s recount in the book of Deuteronomy 7:15....
“HaShem will take away from thee all sickness; and He will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.”

Ziv therefore, is a month that is especially auspicious for all forms of healing, and that is the sweetness of redemption exalted! Ziv is also known as the month of exponential abundance and sustenance because of the mama which God caused to rain from heaven! and sustained our fore parents in the desert for 40 years! The mana began to fall precisely on the 15th of Ziv. (Talk of sustenance!). Indeed our God is highly involved in not only our spirituality, but also in our material sustenance!

Without a doubt, Ziv is the month of heavenly sustenance, physically and spiritually!
Ziv is the month of being disconnected from the earthly economy and connected to the heavenly economy by none other than the Owner, Possessor and Sustainer of life and of the entire Universe!

Therefore, in this month, forget what the enemy is saying, ignore the threats that inspire fear and worry, focus on the Holy One of Israel, who has ordained the signs and seasons for His divine manifestation! He has decreed redemption and healing! He has pronounced abundance and providence! He has declared victory and not defeat! He has promised blessings and not curses! Therefore arise and give glory the Lord who has pronounced all these things!
