Just sharing in here. Was a response to someone telling me I was stepping outside of grace for trying to do “my own works of righteousness”. Figured y’all in here would appreciate it. ❤️
Is the Word unchanging? Does it endure forever?
“The LAW/Commandments (Torah) of Yahuah is perfect, converting the soul — the testimony of Yahuah is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7
“Blessed are the undefiled in the WAY, who walk in the LAW/Commandments (Torah) of Yahuah.” Psalm 119:1
“Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, your LAW/Commandments is TRUTH.” Psalm 119:142
“The LAW/Commandements (Torah) of the wise is a fountain of LIFE, to depart from the snares of death.” Proverbs 13:14
Notice Yahuah’s Laws are perfect & everlasting. They are the WAY, the TRUTH, and LIFE.
“Yahusha Messiah answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
Messiah is the walking, talking Torah of Yahuah. He is the Word of Yahuah made flesh. Messiah Yahusha is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
“Hear (Shema), my children, the instructions of the Father, and give attention to know understanding. For I give you good DOCTRINE, do not foresake my LAW (torah).” Proverbs 4:1-2
“Yahusha Messiah answered them, and said, my DOCTRINE is not mine, but his that sent me.” John 7:16
Torah or Law simply means righteousness instruction. Messiah came to teach us the righteous ways and instruction of His Father.
“If you know that he (Yahusha Messiah) is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices (actions/produce) righteousness has been born of him.”
1 John 2:29 ESV
The story is the cohesive from beginning to end.
As for the New Covenant:
““For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.”
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:33 TS2009
“Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness (torahlessness), and sin is lawlessness. Little children, let no one lead you astray. The one doing righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. The one doing sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested: to destroy the works of the devil.”
Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 3:4, 7-8 TS2009
“My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Intercessor with the Father, יהושע Messiah, a righteous One. And He Himself is an atoning offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world. And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.”
Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 2:1-6 TS2009
“If we say that we have no sin, we are misleading ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.”
Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 1:8-10 TS2009
Without the Righteous Torah of Yahuah, there’s no definition of what Sin is. The New Covenant brought about by Messiah enables us by the Spirit to understand and walk in His commandments. Messiah does this, not us. We simple humble ourselves, repent for our sins and He teaches us His ways and commands.
