Is pleasure an idol? It would seem that man has truly been given over to the pursuit of personal pleasure heaped upon oneself. This creates a continual flow of self adulation and worship.

Is pleasure the problem? From my meditation, it would appear that seeking YOUR OWN pleasure is the snare.

When one is truly devoted to Yahuah and to their brethren, the pleasure sought will be Yahuah's good pleasure and the pleasure of seeing brethren prospering.

Psalm 35:27 "Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let Yahuah be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."

We can see that Yahuah has PLEASURE but it is in the prosperity of ANOTHER.

What was it that Yahuah said over Messiah?

Matthew 3:17 "And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Here again we see Yahuah has Pleasure in the SON.

Through SIN and IDOLATRY, mankind has been turned to seek HIS OWN PLEASURE at the expense of Yahuah and his fellow man which is the ultimate fruit of idolatry.

Let us redouble our efforts in faith to be PLEASING to our Father in Heaven and let us press for the prosperity and strengthening of our brethren ... that we may be like our Father in Heaven who takes pleasure in the prosperity of HIS SERVANT.
